this marks our last week on the island. it has a wistful air of finality to it. Ari and Brian continue to regularly visit Shell Beach. Aaron devises new ways to divide infinite silence in to comprehensive, vectoring time. and Akie can be fooled in to looking up from his book if you say you’ve found his secret stash of cuban cigars.
so: all is normal.
the sets at the Baz Bar have settled into an elegant lope. the playing is sure, confident, and sweet — if quiet (we have to keep it under 85 dBs which is pretty damned quiet). we’ve written at least one new song that Akie keeps calling “DanceSidhe” (which is apparently obviously meant to a semi-humorous bit of wordplay… but damned if anyone can figure it out). and there are one or two left still simmering on the burners.
if the internet connection were just a bit faster and more dependable, we’d be able to upload some songs for you. as it stands, we’re just settling now for describing them.
a few more awesome pictures and videos from Brian’s camera too — which we’ll try to post up later. also, starting to work on music for the Soul Khan record release happening in early December (details to come).
and that’s the status of the band here on this somewhat understated Tuesday. with that, we fade back into our periods of normalcy. with just a few more hours of downtime before tonights gigs.
and, hey, if you own a boat and you’re in the area: sail on over to Gustavia Harbor… and check out our set that Baz Bar tonight.
